Alright, so lately I've been realizing that there are several things that I have to buy now. Im not talking about food, groceries, bills, internet...I'm talking about little things my mom or parents used to take care of that I now have to. Things might get a little uncomfortable and sappy. So be prepared.
1. Shampoo and Conditioner.
Growing up, my mom always had sooooo many shower products. We literally always had ten different soaps and at least five or six different shampoos/conditioners. Through the years I've definitely gathered a collection of soaps/perfumes/lotions. BUT nobody ever got me shampoo. So, hint for Christmas and my birthday, buy me shampoo. I know it seems weird, but sometimes I'll be in the shower and all of the sudden, I go to grab the shampoo and....nothing. And normally, I'd scream, "Mom! We are out of shampoo!" and I'd hear her in another room say "Look under the cabinet!" and all was well. Now, I look under the cabinet and all I see is the toilet paper that I have to hide from Shayne. Because he likes to use it for EVERYTHING. Which, brings me to my next item;
2. Toilet paper and Paper towels.
Who would've thought I would've needed these. My mom always has cabinets stuffed with these things. She doesn't allow herself to run out. And we have. NOT OF TOILET PAPER. Of paper towels. I like being in a clean house, and spills obviously happen. But when you are buying the cheapest things you can find because you spend your money on literally everything else...the great value paper towels are NOT as absorbent as Bounty. Not at ALL.
3. Medicine
This one is seriously bad. My mom has medicine for EVERYTHING. Bloating, cramps, headaches, allergies....what do I have? Some cough drops and three ibuprofens that I'll probably be using later if this head ache doesn't subside. I would've never even though that I would have to buy medicine until the day came where I was on the bathroom floor dying from the expired chicken wrap and needed tums when I realized: All I have is cough drops.
4. New toothbrushes
I realize most of these things are from the bathroom, but honestly those are the things you don't really think of. So, every time someone got sick, or every month or so, my mom changes our toothbrushes. So for me, having the same one for more than 4 weeks grosses me out. Im almost at 8 weeks with this one and every time I brush my teeth I feel like throwing up.
5. Feminine Products
Wait! Don't leave because Im talking about tampons. If you are a male and have a female in your life, you better just get over it now. My mom used to always take care of me when it came to this. All I'd have to say is, "Red war is coming" and she'd get the memo. That being said, I'd definitely like to thank Shayne for always making sure I'm taken care of. Even if "stuff" is code word for you, the fact you care is amazing.
6. Toenail Clippers
We actually finally bought these today. We have been living without clippers for our paws and claws for months now. I clip them at my moms house when needed, Im not really sure how Shayne has managed. But after debating buying them for months we finally did. Why did it take us so long, I have no idea.
7. Dog food
My mom never bought my dog food for me, but her and my dad normally just let Beau eat off from the other dogs food. I know Shayne's parents just fed Lilly all the time just because it was the norm. But I don't think either of us really remembered dog food as something that we would have to buy. Which is weird because, I mean, we have dogs.
8. Cat food
This is similar to the one previously. But this is a very recent addition. I never posted anything about tinker bell, and I will soon. But when Tinkerbell died, I decided to 'adopt' Gracie. And for the last 11 years my mom always bought the cat food of course. So now me having to buy it its just weird.
9. Toilet Plunger
This is all Shayne. One night, normal bodily functions happened, and we had to go out at 10:30 pm to get a toilet plunger. It was a nightmare for both of us.
10. Literally everything.
I know I said I wouldn't include anything like groceries and stuff. But seriously. My parents used to buy everything for me. Now, we have to get it. I haven't asked anyone to buy me something, but I've called my mom on several occasions asking her about a specific brand or what I need.
The point is, we rely on our parents for so much and you really have no idea what all the do for you until you have to do it or buy it yourself. So with that, Thank you.
